Ernesto HW Update

On account of the school's closing on Wednesday, here is a minor homework adjustment:
Septimi:
For Thursday (due Friday): STUDY!!!! Make vocabulary cards for Chapter 2 vocabulary (16 words total - page 7)
Octavi:
Make sure "Things are Getting Complicated" packet is done (all 4 pages) by Friday!!!

The 7th grade quiz is still on Friday (be ready for Jeopardy! on Thursday!), and the 8th graders still have a quiz next Wednesday.

HOMEWORK:
Monday (due Tuesday): Activity 1e in WB; study for quiz! (every day)
Tuesday (due Wed.): ex. 1c in TB (N.B.: "TB" = textbook - the hardcover book; "WB" = workbook - the softcover book)
Wednesday: Make vocabulary cards for Chapter 2 vocabulary (page 7)
Thursday: STUDY!!!!!
Friday: Enjoy your weekend :)

Octavi:

QUIZ ON TUESDAY: Chapters 1-5 vocablary & derivatives; "Back to Basics" grammar; Greek-Roman God names.
HOMEWORK: Monday (Due Tuesday): STUDY!!!!!
Tuesday: Page two of "It's Getting Complicated" worksheet
Wed.-Tuesday: Study Ch. 6-10 vocabulary and grammar

Homework - Week of 8/21

Here is the homework for the first week of school. Remember to check this site on a regular basis because the details may change. Students are still required to write the homework in their planners every day!

SEPTIMI (VII):

Monday (Due Tuesday): Fill out "All About Me" worksheet; review syllabus with parents
Tuesday: Make vocabulary flash cards OR study sheet (two columns) for Chapter 1 vocabulary
Wednesday: Look up the Latin terms "nota bene" and "quid pro quo" and think of a situation in which one might use those terms.
Thursday: Write sentences using the following derivatives (you may use different forms of the word. e.g.: Instead of "nominate," you may change it to "nominated."): alternate; habit; legible (or illegible); nominate; scribble; sedentary; vicinity; rustic.

Octavi (VIII):

Monday (Due Tuesday): Begin studying "Words to Know Ch. 1-5" sheet; Find your red textbook!
Tuesday: Pages 2-3 of "Back to Basics" packet
Wednesday: Study Greek vs. Roman god/goddess names; finish #1 of "Composition Part I" sheet if not complete
Thursday: Study vocabulary! Finish #2 of "Composition" sheet if not complete
Friday: Finish #3 of "Composition" sheet if not complete *First quiz will be the following Tuesday, August 29th! Will consist of Chapters 1-5 vocabulary and grammar, along with Greek vs. Roman god names*

It is almost time!

Salvete omnes,

Well, tonight is the Ice Cream Social - I am so excited to see everybody again! The classroom is almost set up - I will have the projector permanently hooked up to my computer so we can watch many PowerPoint presentations (more fun than my handwriting!), and there is a nice corner that you can sit and "hang out." There are a bunch of stressbusters materials, too, so you can read fun books and comics if you need to smile. :)
